Ms Muench is an Information Security expert and works for the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). She is Head of Branch "Critical Infrastructures" within the BSI. She has a wide range of experience in advising, evaluating and auditing Information Security related issues both in the private and in the public sector. She participates in the national and international discussions in this field and is a well-known author in the area. Her key activities cover the coordination of the activities concerning Critical Infrastructure Protection in Germany. She is Fellow of the German Informatics Society (GI). She is also a member of program committees of various security conferences. From 1990 to 1993 she worked as security consultant for debis Systemhaus, after changing to BSI she became an expert for Information Security Management, then head of different sectors for different tasks such as IT-Grundschutz, the Alliance for Cyber Security, the BSI Penetration Center and IS-Revision. She is the author of many BSI publications on cyber security such as IT-Grundschutz.
